Backtracking to Monday I spent part of the day roasting beets that you see in the basket and freezing them.




If you love beets you will love even more "roasted beets" wash them good, put them on a baking sheet or foil, drizzle some olive oil over, roast for 1 hour at 450 degrees, let them cool and take a papertowel and get the skin off, they are wonderful. Use some sea salt, fresh ground pepper and YUM!!!








My sister Jayne was responsible for both of these baskets, I do have tomatoes growing in my grow box, but she has a plethora, so I took some of hers and made some "Fresh roasted tomato soup....it was my first ever tomato soup, it was great...used Tyler Florence's recipe, one of my favorite Food tv chefs, it was just superb!!




Roasting makes things sweeter, think of onions, garlic, beets, tomatoes, how they all are sweeter when you roast them!!! Try some before our summer bounty is gone!!

Zane's 1st day of Kindergarten!!!


I got to chauffeur Dad and Zane...it was an exciting morning for all of us!!!

So, here we are on another "new adventure"!








I will be sharing my loves with you, travel, cardmaking,( am a Stampin'Up demonstrator for 2 years now) oil painting, photography,reading, Hannah and Freeway, our 2 feline loves, the critters at our doorstep, the beautiful birds that come to the feeders, toads, marauding raccoons, "chippies" (hence the name of my Blog) gardening, cooking, pottery, antiques etc. what have I left out??








Today is like a fall day....bah humbug...I am a Leo...we love the sun...my precious sun aka summer is waning which also means my beautiful little "jewels" the picture attached will be leaving this coming month, it always makes me sad to see them go...knowing it will be another 8 months til I hear their chirping and whirling wings.
